Humanities
We consider that the study of humanities is vital in shaping well-rounded, informed citizens. This year, our Year 6 students are delving into an exciting curriculum that spans history, geography, and citizenship, offering them a unique lens to view the world around them. We will be focusing on exploring the impact of human actions on different climates. We will be understanding the importance of the North Pole and its environment and analysing the impact of human activity on the Arctic.

We believe that a strong foundation in literacy is essential for a child's future success. As Year 6 students embark on their journey towards secondary school, we're dedicated to making reading and writing both enjoyable and impactful! This term, our pupils are diving into a variety of captivating texts and honing their writing skills through creative projects. From inspiring Tales of the Mabinogion that will ignite their imagination to engaging writing workshops that encourage self-expression, we are fostering a love for literacy that will last a lifetime.

This year, our learners are diving deep into exciting topics such as fractions, decimals, and percentages. Throughout the term, students will engage in hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and collaborative projects that make Maths come alive! With a focus on real-world applications, our pupils are discovering how to solve problems that truly matter
Science and Technology
At our school, Year 6 students are diving into the fascinating world of science, where curiosity meets discovery! In Science we are exploring how energy can be transferred from one place to another and how this can be used to provide the energy we need in our modern lives. We believe that making science engaging is key to inspiring the next generation of innovators. We are committed to creating a stimulating environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore their ideas.

Whether it's a rousing rendition of a classic song or an original composition, our budding musicians are discovering how to express themselves and tell their stories through sound.
Dance
We are thrilled to announce that our Year 6 students are embracing creativity and self-expression through our vibrant dance programme! This term, they’ll be exploring various dance styles, from contemporary to traditional Welsh folk dances, celebrating both individual talents and teamwork.
Health and Wellbeing
As our Year 6 pupils embark on their final year of primary school, it's essential to prioritise their health and wellbeing. At Cwmaber Juniors we believe that a happy mind leads to a successful learner! PE will be on a Monday so please could the children wear suitable clothing and footwear. To support children’s wellbeing Miss Beddoe will also be taking them for well- being lessons.
Digital Learning
