As a National Nurture accredited school, Cwmaber Juniors want to show our commitment to supporting our children’s Health and Wellbeing by developing the Nurture Ninjas Council.                     

The Nurture Ninjas Council are supported by the Health and Wellbeing Leads Miss Howells and Miss Beddoe who all meet regularly. Each meeting has an agenda drawn up by the Ninjas and minutes and actions are recorded.

The role of the Nurture Ninjas -

• Help and support children with their Health and Wellbeing
• Provide opportunities for children to talk about their problems
• Act as Peer Mediators - resolve or advise children how to deal with problems they may have, help children to use good communication skills when talking to their friends, showing them how to avoid an argument and to have a calm discussion etc.
• Help the children of Cwmaber look at how they speak or answer other children, encourage good listening, and let others speak without interruption.
• Playground buddies - helpful on the playground, approach children on the Buddy Bench.
