Welcome to Dosbarth Pedwar!

Our new topic is ‘Changes in Our World’! We will be exploring how change can impact us and the world we live in. Including how we can cope and remain resilient with the changes in us as we grow up, delving into changes in our mood and keeping a mood diary to highlight what can impact changes in our own moods. This will positively support the building of our mental and emotional Wellbeing. 

We will be capturing the effects of Climate Change in Wales and present this through an artistic picture using Expressive Arts skills. Taking inspiration from famous Welsh Artists along the way, such as Rhiannon Roberts. 

As we embark on our new topic, we will be showing our commitment to the sustainability of the planet through investigating the materials companies use for packaging their products and find a company who has not made a sustainable change and make it our mission to persuade them to make better choices for our planet, through writing a persuasive letter in LLC. As well as researching the History of transport and creating a timeline to show how transport has become more sustainable. Our Mathematics focus will be units of measurement and we will be finding the correct units of measure for different objects.

In order to make a successful water filter in Science and Technology that can provide us with clean water we will be investigating the permeable and impermeable properties of a variety of rocks.

PE will be on a Thursday, so please could the children wear suitable footwear.

We aim to read with the children twice a week and if you would like to see their reading record or listen to them read the book they are currently reading in school, please ask them to bring it home and ensure it is back in school the following day. We are encouraging independent reading, therefore the children always have their reading book on their desk to read in the mornings and after lunch.
