As we are no longer carrying out formal spelling tests in class, we are sharing the following documents to support your child with spellings at home.

We have provided the Year 1 and Year 2 overviews for the year but please remember that these are broad guidelines and not the expectation for all children to achieve by the end of year 2. 

Lockdown and COVID restrictions have meant that most children are below the expected level in spelling for their year group, so please don't worry if you see sets of words that are too difficult for your child. Work your way up, from the Year 1 program through to the Year 2 program at a pace that suits your child. It is better for them to be confident in applying their spellings in their writing independently than learning lists of words that they are not able to apply use use in their independent writing.
