Transition
As separate Infant and Junior Schools, the transition from Foundation Phase to Key Stage 2 is a major priority for both schools. Both schools aim to work effectively together to ensure that transition impacts positively on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Our agreed aims are to:
- Secure continuity of learning between Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2;
- Promote and support cross-phase school improvement;
- Secure common understanding of good practice on the range of methodologies used in both schools;
- Secure good knowledge and understanding of pupils’ learning experiences and standards of achievement/attainment in both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2;
- Ensure information about vulnerable pupils is shared and appropriate support is put in place;
- Ensure pupil data is transferred efficiently and is used effectively to inform teaching and learning;
- Ensure parents/carers are fully informed of the transfer process.
