Welcome to Class R!

We are the Reception class at Cwmaber Infants. Our class teacher is Miss Boanas and our class HLTA is Mrs N Davies.

This term our Learning Journey is called "Magical Me". Our focus will be learning all about ourselves and how we grow and change.

In Humanities we will be learning about governance and the importance of rules, why we need to follow them, and what rewards and consequences are.

In Science and Technology we will be learning about how materials change in water and what the word waterproof means.

In Health and Well Being, we follow the Jigsaw scheme, focusing on the units "Being Me In My World" and "Celebrating Differences"

In Expressive Art our focus artist this term is Jackson Pollock. We will learn that artwork can be created in lots of different way using different equipment and materials

PE will be on a TUESDAY. Children can come dressed in their PE kit on a Tuesday. We are focusing on gymnastic first, so please ensure children are able to take their shoes and sock off independently.

We will be doing lots of reading in class so please ensure books are sent with children regularly. We also send home phonics family sounds, word boxes and tricky words for children to practice at home too. 

Learning Log tasks will be provided on a Friday and are required back in school by a Wednesday please. 

We complete lots of Reading Eggs and Doodle Maths activities in class, we recommend that children access these once a week at home to practice their key number skills and literacy skills such as recognising letter, sounds and blending sounds together to make simple words.
