Welcome to Class One!

We are the Year One Class at Cwmaber Infants and your teacher is Miss Harris with Mrs Davies, Miss Parker and Miss Williams. 

Our topic this term is 'A Summer of Sport - Cwmaber Competes'. We will be focusing on forces in sports, specifically push; pull; twist; stretch. Along with this, we will be looking at the benefits of sports as exercise and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. We will be identifying different sporting events around the world, such as the Olympics and the UEFA EUROS 2024. . Our text focus is 'Over the Meadow', identifying features of rhyme and poetry, with a non fiction focus of Non Chronoligical Reports. 

Our school trips this term will be Pond Dipping, Mini Beast Hunting and WildLife Experience at Parc Cwm Darren and our end of year trip will be at Jump

PE will be on a Wednesday so please could the children wear/bring suitable footwear on these days. 

We ask that reading books and yellow reading diaries are returned to school every day, and we will make it our best effort to read and complete word box spellings with the children daily. 

Learning Log tasks will be given out on Fridays - either in the learning log book or through purple mash, doodle learning or reading eggs.
