    Our Outdoor Sand Area

At our nursery, we have a wonderful Outdoor Sand Area where children can explore, create, and learn through hands-on play.

Why do we have sand outdoors?

    • Encourages Creativity and Imagination: Sand is a versatile material that children use to build castles, dig tunnels, and create all kinds of imaginative worlds.

    • Develops Fine Motor Skills: Scooping, pouring, and shaping sand help strengthen hand muscles and improve coordination.

    • Supports Sensory Exploration: The feel of sand — whether dry or wet — provides a rich sensory experience that engages children’s senses and curiosity.

    • Promotes Social Skills: Playing in the sand encourages sharing, teamwork, and communication as children work together on projects.

    • Introduces Early Math and Science Concepts: Children learn about volume, texture, and cause and effect through sand play.

    • Provides Outdoor Learning: Being outside in the fresh air while playing in the sand supports health and well-being.

Our outdoor sand area is a fun and educational space where children can develop important skills while enjoying the natural environment.
